The Association for Transpersonal Hypnotherapy
exists to promote Transpersonal Hypnotherapy. We register and
promote a list of practising transpersonal hypnotherapists to whom the
public can confidently refer.
We promote interest in the transpersonal approach and disseminate research
in the form of articles and through forging links with like minded
organisations and individuals.
Site officially launched 1st Sept 2007 -
applications to join are now being accepted.

Transpersonal hypnotherapy is a profound
and highly effective healing practice for behavioural conditions. It is
hypnotherapy that transcends ordinary ego mind functioning. Although it
is often used to work with issues that relate to spiritual development and
other metaphysical experiences of living, it is also extensively used on
ordinary, every day issues in order to bring about significant and often
permanent change to behavioural conditions. It is an holistic therapy
which encompasses mind, body and spirit – the physical, the conscious and
the super conscious, respectively, and therefore it works with the various
states of consciousness that are beyond the rational but can precede the
mystical.
Famous psychologists that have explored aspects of transpersonal within
their work are Abraham Maslow and Carl Jung, to name but two.
Transpersonal psychology for the most part has been overlooked by 'main
stream' psychology which tends to focus on the personal, biological,
developmental and societal aspects of the human psyche.
The transpersonal perspective also spans many research interests,
particularly in the field of psychology. The following list is adapted
from Scotton, Chinen and Battista (1996) and includes the contributions of
spiritual traditions - Hinduism, Yoga, Buddhism, Shamanism, Kabbalah,
Sufism and Christian mysticism - to psychiatry and psychology:
Addiction and recovery
Aging and adult spiritual development
Breathwork
Consciousness Research
Cross-cultural studies and Anthropology
Dying and near death experience (NDE)
Ecological survival
Guided-Imagery Therapy
Meditation research and clinical aspects of meditation
Native American healing
Psychedelics and Psychopharmacology
Parapsychology
Offensive spirituality and spiritual defences
Transpersonal Psychotherapy
Leadership Studies
Past-Life Therapy
Past-Life Regression
Social Change
Spirit Theory
Any form of healing that is working with our own energies and bringing in, where appropriate, higher energy healing, is going to benefit the individual’s existence both in the material, everyday world, but particularly in relation to their own continuing development of their spiritual being. Transpersonal hypnotherapy aims to take you beyond the limitations of your ego to enable you to access your own pure inner guidance and healing energies to bring about beneficial change. It is highly effective and can be quite profound.
Membership
of this association is open to any hypnotherapist:
using transpersonal techniques and approaches
who can show evidence of training or experience
who is insured to practice
Membership is provided against a nominal registration fee of £10, kindly
note that registration is only open to UK based therapists. The fee
goes towards covering site costs and time spent promoting the Association
and our work.
Applications are rigorously vetted and members must agree to be bound by our
codes of ethics and are subject to disciplinary procedures in the event of
complaints.

"Hypnosis
is the use of suggestion, whether direct or indirect, to induce a
heightened state of suggestibility in which there is bypass of the
critical faculty of the mind, and selective attention to suggestions
given." Dave Elman
"Born as an eagle, why chose to live life like a parrot with clipped
wings?" Duncan McColl
"Hypnotism is the most practical science of the age. It confers advantages
that cannot be conveyed through any other medium."
